This installation provides an immersive experience that encourages the viewer to reflect on what it means to feel socially isolated. The viewer is taken through a disorientating journey to discover what a person in isolation might feel. We have created a space in which only one person enters at a time. The viewer is lured into the space via tunnels, entering a lonely void of mixed reality. The figures start to become more and more intense, the sound amplifies, and eventually, the figures disappear, leaving the user completely alone in an empty space with nothing but radio silence, or funkstille, the German term for the humming sound of isolation.
