In collaboration with SHS Delft we designed the garden furniture for the inner courtyard. The seating is placed in a residential common garden shared by students, elderly people and refugees. The garden furniture situated in Delft is designed with the intention of bringing different communities together and allowing them to enjoy the outdoor space.

The furniture consists of four different elements, each with its own unique function. A stage to perform, a bar, and seating areas that are more open or more private. In practice, the bar was taken loose from the furniture piece.

The piece is designed with intimacy, gathering, and play in mind. The goal is for people to feel at home in the inner courtyard of 'Abtswoude Bloeit' and to be able to enjoy the outdoor area. It is a place where students, formerly homeless individuals, the elderly and staff, and Ukrainian refugees can come together and relax with each other. The aim of this furniture is to contribute to a stronger sense of community.

The furniture was assembled by students from TU Delft, along with members of SHS Delft’s board and the Stylos student association, working together to assemble the furniture. During the Student Doet Dag, children and residents from the Abtswoude Bloeit community gathered to add their personal touch by painting the pieces. These images tell the story of a hands-on effort where different groups contributed their skills and creativity to enhance their shared space.
